Why can’t we match the right candidates with the right jobs, now?

Merit is not a job board, or a LinkedIn (god forbid). It’s a real-time job matching platform.

Candidates create a profile with their work experience and education. Their profile is initially anonymous to potential employers.

Employers then find candidates through campaigns. Our algorithms (both AI and classical) provide an initial sort through, presenting a candidate pile to the employer. An employer then goes through the candidate pile, approving and disapproving candidates, creating a total rank of them. Employers then reach out to the top percentile candidates.

As a candidate, you’ll receive applicant requests over our in-house email system. When you approve, your full job profile will be made available to employers. You’ll then be able to go back and forth until you converge on the right match.

This process cuts down the sickness of wait time, and the friction of business bureaucracy.

The creators of Merit see a world where anybody that has a job can find the right candidate, and anybody that needs a job can find the right occupation. This is a world that is removed of the sickening wait time after sending in a job application, and the finger-crossing teams do when they have to hope the right candidates apply to their job.

It’s also embarrassing that this has to be said, but this world we see is also one where humans still work. We want people to work towards full-time employment at jobs that they derive meaning from with people who are ecstatic about their presence.
